Cheoah River #1

The Cheoah is a quintessential Appalachian river: a stream of clear, cold water making its way from higher elevations, swirling around — and shaping — the boulders and rocks that had been part of the mountains on either side of the river channel.

I could sit and watch the water for hours, hearing its song as it smashes into rocks, curls around a fallen log, burbles above obstacles hidden below, and moves ever downward.

A tributary of the Little Tennessee River, the Cheoah runs between the Santeetlah Lake Dam and Lake Calderwood. It is becoming popular with fishing enthusiasts, and kayakers during the periodic releases from the upstream dam.

This scene looks great as an acrylic print with dibond backing (16x24” or so), or a bright archival paper, matted in a variety of frames. It could also be presented as a thinwrap with a glossy laminate that floats off the wall.
