Graysby Face

In this fishy portrait, a Graysby shows off his spots and smile.

I’ve been carrying a camera below the surface since my very first open-water certification dive. (I somehow convinced our instructor, Paula, that I could handle it.)

Graysby (Cephalopholis cruentata) are a smaller grouper, stay to themselves, and slowly hunt the ledges and crevices of the reef.

The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary protects about 2,900 square nautical miles, yet supports about 3 million annual visitors. Disease, heat stress, and human activity have taken their toll yet nearly 6,000 marine species call the coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass meadows home!

This would look great as a print on a black 3/4” standout mount, or matted and paired with a thin frame, up to 11×16”. Alternatively, marry this image with others from the Underwater Collection in a Triple Picture Frame Display (i.e., 8” prints in 14×14” frames) or a Triple Collage Frame (i.e., 6” prints in a 12x24” frame).
