Built around 1870, this water-powered grist mill and sawmill served the residents of Cades Cove, now part of the Great .
With an education in architectural drafting (before the days of CAD - computer-aided drafting), I have a keen eye for structural and aesthetic details.
Now part of the Great Smoky Mountains Nations Park, Cades Cove features an 11-mile, one-way drive through this valley surrounded by mountains, and hosts many historic structures, hiking trails, and some of my favorite vistas.
This image looks great on canvas, or on archival paper in a barnwood float frame (11×14” or so).
