Sea Fan Sunburst
Key Largo, FL
Sea Fan Sunburst
While the main element is a sea fan, there are also a variety of other hard and soft corals.
I’ve been carrying a camera below the surface since my very first open-water certification dive. (I somehow convinced our instructor, Paula, that I could handle it.)
Florida’s coral reef, the only living barrier reef in the continental U.S., extends from the Dry Tortugas to the St. Lucie Inlet but has lost the majority of its healthy coral cover in the last several decades.
The reef supports over 45 species of stony corals, 35 species of octocorals, more than 70 species of sponges, and 600+ species of fish!
This image would look great as an acrylic print, metalprint, or on bright archival paper, up to 20×24”.
