Royal Poinciana (Delonix regia) is one of my favorite trees! The sprawling shape, delicate, fern-like leaves, and spectacular blooms resembling orchids has a tropical appeal.
It grows throughout the Tropic Of Cancer (although I raised one in a large pot for years after laboriously germinating a few seeds).
I’ve included a picture of a tree, and another of its blooms in the gallery below for your enjoyment.
We thought the patterns in this dried up seed pod made a striking image...
